Monday, 10th July 2023, saw over 1000 prime lambs sold under the hammer at our weekly market for the first time in living memory!

The directors and staff are really delighted at reaching this milestone with 1096 prime lambs forward. The atmosphere was buzzing with plenty of buyers and vendors all reporting a fair day's trade on a falling trade  across the country. As expected, the fed lambs with plenty of meat are achieving the best prices with some smaller and grass-fed lambs affecting the averages.

For our Market team it's heartening to see the numbers growing weekly and Louth Livestock Market bouncing back to life following its near closure back in 2017 and years of uncertainty over the location as a potential supermarket site. Well done Oliver and team and thank you to all the sellers and buyers making this happen week in week out.
