I am the newest member of the masons team, having started in July as the Rural Placement Student where I have already gained oodles of experience in a number of different areas, I have found it to be an invaluable experience already! Masons has given me the opportunity to shadow the surveyors in the office dealing with work relating to planning, Valuation, Agriculture, Landlord and tenant just to name a few, not only this but I have also been given the responsibility of dealing with clients face to face, enabling me to build a rapport with them. The work is incredibly varied and no two days are the same!
The placement year takes place during the third year of my degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management at Harper Adams University. My ultimate goal is to qualify as a Rural Chartered Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Aside from my academic life I am a keen horsewoman, having competed in the under 16 trials for the European eventing team back in 2009, more recently we have moved to show jumping where we compete most weekends in British Showjumping events. I have spent a lot of time milking on a local dairy farm, which I love! Having grown up in Grimsby where my whole family are fish merchants , the country bumpkin lifestyle is something that I have really grown to love and is definitely a far cry from the fish industry!
