Today we were pleased to present cheques to two charities who were this year’s beneficiaries of the funds raised at the 89th Louth Annual Christmas Fat Stock Show.

Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance and Lincolnshire Rural Support Network were both presented with cheques from £1281.39.

The money was raised on the show day by numerous fund-raising efforts including a raffle, auction, guess the weight of cow and calf and donations for hot beef rolls. The day wouldn’t be able to happen without time given by the stewards, judges and kind sponsorship from local businesses.

The committee were pleased with day, with three new produce classes being held for the first time. The classes were supported by local butchers and it is hoped they will grow in popularity in future years.

On the day the some of the main winners were

  • The Haltered Champion Beast -Mr D Nickson
  • Champion Pen of Lambs- G W Allison
  • The Fossitt & Thorne Cup (which is for the exhibitor who wins the most points in the show) - G W Allison.

A real highlight of holding the show is being able to support the charities so we were delighted to welcome them at the market today.
